The
focus of CTC’s curriculum is to ensure work-readiness and scholastic success in our students through the use and understanding
of modern technological processes, education and equipment. CTC's goal
is to provide opportunities for disadvantaged youth populations to experience
the richness and possibilities of a technologically-enhanced education.Technological and scientific literacy are keys to success.
Sufficient

to its students.

Microsoft Certification Curriculum
MASTER (Math Science and technology Education Resources) Program - Students cannot achieve high levels of performance without access to
skilled professional teachers, adequate classroom time, a rich array of
learning materials, accommodating work spaces, and the resources of the
communities surrounding their schools. The goal of the MASTER program
is an increase in the number of immigrant work-age youth who receive their
high school diploma, citizenship status, and long-term employment skills
through intensive educational and technological training.
There
are three areas of the MASTER Program:
1. TEACHER/STAFF TRAINING--Training
for teaching staff in Microsoft Certification curriculum through New Horizons.
The certification of our teachers allows them to teach Microsoft Certification
courses, thus offering our students the opportunity to become certified
in various Microsoft applications (MS Office, Web Development and Design,
etc). Upon completion of the training, students will be able to proceed
to MS certification.
2. CENTRAL SERVER
TECHNOLOGY--Modern central server technology allows students at all CTC
campuses to access their class work and projects, with all software and programs located on one central
server. This facilitates collaboration and information sharing.
3. MOBILE MATH AND
SCIENCE CLASSROOM LABORATORIES--Apple wireless mobile labs offer CTC a
complete, easily accessible solution that is a flexible and cost-effective
alternative to traditional computer labs. Because the mobile labs are
portable and feature wireless networking, they can immediately turn any
classroom into a computer lab and provide every student with access to
the latest technology. As a result, more students can experience the wealth
of benefits that project-based learning has to offer.
Computer Labs - The computer labs have been designed in a manner that prepares students
to format, design text, and apply keyboarding skills to what is required
in the regularclassrooms. The purpose of this is to provide the students
the skills that are required in all classrooms from high school to college,
and ultimately the workplace.
Microsoft
IT Academy - CTC is privileged to be
a Microsoft IT Academy partner. This affiliation provides our school and
students with state-of-the-art curriculum, training opportunities, and
updates on crucial information regarding technology and technology security.
Our partnership with Microsoft allows our students to combine real-life,
work-related skills along with theirlearning, making them better prepared
for the future and the work place.
In coordination with
state standards for technology, we make use of Microsoft Official Academic
Curriculum with Microsoft Office application programs (Word, Excel, Access,
PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, etc.).
Microsoft
Certification Curriculum - CTC provides all levels of our students access to Microsoft training
and curriculum. From pre-English to competent Level 5 English speakers,
our students participate in courses directed toward earning Microsoft
certification. Students are immersed in Microsoft Office programs such
as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more.
